2013 Australian 1oz 3-Coin Silver Proof High Relief Collection
Iconic Australian animals
The set captures three iconic Australian animals including the Kookaburra - is the world's largest kingfisher. It is recognised by its plumage in shades of white and brown. Kangaroo - is the iconic creature’s strong hind legs and long tail are brilliantly designed to hop great distances. Koala - is a tree dwelling creature believed to get its name from the Indigenous words, meaning ‘no drink’. This is because the koala sources its hydration from a specific variety of eucalyptus leaves and is only seen to drink in drought situations or when ill.
