The Perth Mint is delighted to present the latest coin in the Australian Opal Lunar Series. The snake occupies the sixth position in the lunar calendar.
Those born under the sign of the Chinese Lunar Snake in 2025, 2013, 2001, 1989, 1977 and every 12th preceding year, are said to be wise, intelligent, and charming. Being passionate and articulate, they are also thought to make great leaders.
The coin's reverse incorporates a circular panel featuring an elegant snake detailed in pure Australian opal.
DESIGN
Struck elements include intricate patterning with stylised depictions of jasmine, a plant said to attract snakes.The design also includes the inscription YEAR OF THE SNAKE and the Chinese character for 'snake' together with the 2025 yeardate, the coin's weight and purity, and The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark.
PRESENTATION
The coin is housed in a classic display case with a clear lid. Packaged within an illustrated shipper, each coin is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity
