It is a first time that different wording has appeared on a circulating coin obverse. It is the first time a commemorative design has been applied to the 5 and 10 cent coins.

This is the first time all 6 coins will have a commemorative design all at the same time! Issued to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Decimal Currency, this coin features a smaller-than-usual portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, with a stylised reproduction of the old Crown – just one of the coins replaced in the 1966 changeover.
